Buffalo Batt and Felt
has been a supplier for over seventy-five years to the upholstery, bedding and textile industries. It was founded in 1913 as a producer of cotton felts for this market niche.
In 1959 Buffalo Batt agreed to participate with E.I. DuPont Corp. in an experimental Dacron garnetting operation. From this pioneer work evolved the high loft segment of the nonwoven fabric industry as we know it today. In 1971, Buffalo Batt and Felt began to pursue this product line on a commercial basis and by the 1980's the nonwoven polyester products constituted the primary lines of the business. In 1977, Buffalo Batt introduced its line of craft products, and launched its retail Buffalo Snow product line in the mid 1980's.
In 1988 the privately held corporation was acquired by the publicly held company Leggett and Platt, Incorporated, of Carthage, Missouri. That partnership continues today. |
